The uses of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as enablers in the Smart School Concept are to improve the teaching and learning process, management and administrative processes, capable, well-trained people with enthusiasm for their work can do that. The ICT make the learning process easier, more fun and effective, as well as the communication between students and teachers more efficient in learning process. Schools transformation also occurs in implementing the Smart School Concept, which are traditional schools into integrated schools with ICT. The Smart School Concept also provides a conducive environment to students in learning process which offers various curricula with on-going evaluation, handled by professional administrators and teachers.
In this Smart School Concept, the technology will be emerged as a platform that can be used by young at early stage of life on how to handle personal computer and other technology gadgets. This allows the young to explore internet themselves with parents guide. They also get to appreciate the internet at early stage of life and make the stakeholders which are private sectors, community and parents easier to teach them formally and informally. Other than that, the early exposure to the young nourishes their interest in ICT. In the school, there are School-levels technologies that play important roles in the Smart School, from facilitating teaching and learning activities to assisting with school management. In the classrooms, the classrooms are equipped with multimedia courseware, and presentation facilities, and email or groupware for collaborative work. In the Media Centre as well as library, these parts are important for students to reach data that needed. So, in the Smart School, these parts are completely equipped with a database centre for multimedia courseware and resources about journals and books. Besides that, computer laboratories also being provided by government for teaching, such as Computer Subject and readily accessible multimedia and audiovisual equipment.
In the Smart School concept, the technology plays key role administration offices capable of managing databases of student and facilities, tracking student and teacher performance or resources, and distributing notices and other information electronically. In enabling the school to draw on a variety of external resources, the technology makes the school accesible to the community.
